Tight Race at Iowa Cup Matches

The annual Iowa Cup Matches pitting the top amateurs against the top PGA Professionals are underway at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora. 

The matches are as close after one day as they have been since 2002.  The Iowa Section Professionals lead the Iowa Golf Association Amateurs by a single point.  With 20 points still available in Friday's singles matches the victor is still very much in the up in the air. ...results

Iowa Mid-Amateur Rescheduled

The 2008 Iowa Mid-Amateur, postponed over the weekend due to heavy rains, has been rescheduled to Sunday and Monday, September 28^th-29^th at the Tournament Club of Iowa. 

All entries that were filed by the original entry deadline of April 24^th are eligible.  All those who withdrew before play or ‘did not show’ will be reinstated if they wish.  Entry fees can either be transferred to another IGA conducted championship or a refund given for those who choose not to compete in September.  In order to receive a refund, entrants must notify the IGA Office before the new entry deadline of September 23^rd.  ...read more

2008 U.S. Open Local Qualifier Info

The field is set for the U.S. Open Local Qualifier Monday, May 12th at Des Moines Golf & CC.  64 players will compete for one of the four spots to move on to the Sectional Round.  The competitors will play the same hole rotation used for the 1999 U.S. Senior Open.

IGA Four-Ball Entry Deadline Quickly Approaching

Entries for the 13th IGA Four-Ball must be received by Monday, May 19^th.  Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs will be the host site on May 23^rd and 24^th.  The course, built into western Iowa's loess hills, opened in 2000 and was designed by Jeffrey Brauer.  Bent Tree was the host of the Iowa Senior Open in 2003.  View pictures of Bent Tree Golf Club or click here to visit their website.

Tournament Club of Iowa

The Tournament Club of Iowa is host to the first event on the IGA calendar in 2008; The Iowa Mid-Amateur Championship held on May 2-3.  TCI was host to the 2006 IGA Match Play and the 2007 Iowa Cup Matches.  The course is an Arnold Palmer design and the King tee has the highest slope rating in the state.
