IGA Launches Travel Site!!!

The Iowa Golf Association has launched its own internet based travel site where anyone can book a hotel room, get airline tickets and rent a car. 

This is an opportunity to support the IGA while booking all of your travel needs at competitive prices.  The revenue raised through this site will go to support the many benefits and services the IGA provides such as Handicapping and Course Rating, Championships and the IGA Members Net Tour, Rules of Golf, educational seminars on issues facing member clubs, iowagolf.org and many others that benefit ALL who play the game.   ...more

2008 IGA Annual Awards Announced

The Iowa Golf Association is pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 IGA Annual Awards.  The awards were voted on by the IGA Board of Directors at its annual meeting on Friday, November 14 at The Tournament Club of Iowa in Polk City.  Member clubs of the IGA and employees of those clubs are eligible for these awards that have been bestowed annually since 1981.  ...more

2009 Sani Scholarship Application Available

The Iowa Golf Association annually awards scholarships in memory of Herman Sani who served the association for more than 30 years.  The purpose of the scholarship is to assist individuals to further their education.  Each recipient receives $8,000 ($2,000 per year) over a consecutive four-year period.  Any graduating high school senior and resident of the State of Iowa is eligible to apply.  Click here for more

2009 IGA Championship Schedule Released

The Iowa Golf Association is pleased to announce a wonderful group of host clubs for the 2009 championship season, highlighted by Sunnyside Country Club as the host site for the 107^th Iowa Amateur Championship.

Sunnyside CC, in Waterloo, will host the 2009 Iowa Amateur from July 27^th-29^th. First conducted in 1900, the Iowa Amateur is the most prestigious championship in Iowa amateur golf. Sunnyside has hosted one other Iowa Amateur, in 1985, which was won by Dana Kain of Ames. The club was also the host site of the 2005 Iowa Mid-Amateur and has been home to many USGA qualifiers. Sunnyside CC was named the IGA’s 18-hole Course of the Year in 2006....more

Ridge Stone Golf Club

Ridge Stone Golf Club in Sheffield opened in 2002.  The club is a 9-hole facility that boasts a 9-hole par 3 short course and a full service clubhouse and restaurant.  The course was named the 2008 IGA 9-Hole Course of the Year and Superintendent Tom Birdsell was the 2007 recipient of the 9-Hole Superintendent of the Year award.  The fourth hole (pictured above) features ruins of the Smith Brick & Tile Plant that line the east and west side of the fairway.
