Art Bartlett

Art Bartlett, from Ottumwa, has won more Iowa Amateur championships than anyone else in Iowa’s History.  From his first title in 1914, to his last title in 1929, Art won a record, 7 State titles.  Along with his unmatched success in the Iowa Amateur, Art was very successful in the Iowa Open as well, recording 2 wins during this stretch.  His career also included 2 trips to the Trans-Mississippi finals, winning one of those appearances in 1928 at the Wakonda Club in Des Moines.  Mr. Bartlett passed away in 1974.

  • 9 Iowa Major Titles

  • 7 time Iowa Amateur Champion - 1914, 15, 17, 18, 24, 28, 29

  • 2 time Iowa Open Champion

  • Trans-Mississippi Champion - 1928
