Jim Rasley
Jim Rasley, from Des Moines, was an outstanding amateur player in his own right, but his golf administration abilities is what made him stick out among his peers in Iowa Golf. Mr. Rasley ran the Iowa Golf Association’s tournament program for more than 20 years on a volunteer basis until 1981. One of his major accomplishments during that time period was, with the help of his wife, the creation of the IGA Father/Son Tournament. This alternate shot format tournament is still going strong today, and is usually the largest and one of the most successful IGA Championships conducted during the year.
