The IGAF awards Thoms $3,000 for the ISU Extension Service. SUPPORT OF TURFGRASS RESEARCH The IGA and the IGA Foundation sup- ported turfgrass research and outreach programs again in 2018. Tremendous progress has been made in environ- mental stewardship and sustainability through these programs. The Iowa Golf Association Foundation donated $3,000 toward travel for Iowa State University Extension Turfgrass Specialist Dr. Adam Thoms’ travel at the 14th annual Extension Fundraiser golf tournament, held at the Indianola Country Club on May 16th. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Iowa Golf Association Foundation has supported turfgrass managers across the state of Iowa by contributing $3,000 each year for Dr. Thoms’ Exten- sion education efforts. This program benefits golf clubs and golf course superintendents with timely information and trouble-shooting consultaion on turf issues. IGA member clubs have access to this service and are encouraged to utilize their knowledge if needed. The IGAF was again a Gold Sponsor for the annual Iowa Turfgrass Conference and Trade Show.
