| 41 Both players made two-putt pars on the first playoff hole, with Brown showing great touch with his lag putt from over fifty feet. Even made a remarkable up and down for par on the second playoff hole (#17). After pitching out from the right fescue when his drive went awry, he got it up and in from about 100 yards. Brown’s birdie attempt narrowly slid past and the playoff marched on. On the third playoff hole, both players missed the green, with Brown finding himself with a difficult stance in the bunker. Neither were able to get up and down for par, with Even’s putt lipping out. On the fourth playoff hole, the par-4 seventeenth, Brown’s par won the playoff against Even’s six. Brown was quick to credit the talent of the young players, and admitted they are challenging to compete against. “This means the world to me. I won the match play last year and I thought that might be the last ‘big’ one I win. These kids are so tough and it’s tough to win these. To win a second (Iowa Amateur), I am just thrilled.” Brown, a member of the Iowa Golf Hall of Fame Class of 2013, has won dozens of tournaments over the years, but something about this year's Iowa Amateur was special to him. "This gives me goosebumps,” Brown said following the playoff. 1 Jon Brown Adel -5 69 68 71 208 2 Jordan Even Cedar Rapids -5 73 67 68 208 3 Charles Jahn Sperry -4 70 66 73 209 T4 Ben Epperly WDM -1 69 72 71 212 T4 Cody Holck Grimes -1 68 71 73 212 T6 Justin Kraft Sioux Center E 74 68 71 213 T6 Luke Vermeer Sioux Center E 71 71 71 213 T6 Matt Garside Bettendorf E 74 71 68 213 T9 Jake Marvelli Indianola +1 68 72 74 214 T9 Trent Lindenman Des Moines +1 72 72 70 214 T9 Bob Brummel Orange City +1 71 71 72 214 T9 Logan Schweinefus Ossain +1 71 68 75 214 T13 Corey Matthey S.
