In the Senior Division, Gene Elliott, of West Des Moines, and Todd Rose, of Newton, put together a round of 65 (-7) on the final day to win by four shots. The action ultimately lasted three holes, the side of Jim Butler, of Fort Madison, and Marshalltown's Rob Christensen outlasted Dave Sergeant, of Fort Dodge, and Muscatine's John Peters, as well as Jim Campbell & Richard Gorbell, of Albia and Cedar Falls respectively. All three teams finished with a two-day total of 141 (-3) for the championship. Christensen’s par on the third playoff hole proved to be the difference. Campbell & Gorbell were eliminated after the first playoff hole when they failed to make par.
