The Iowa Golf Hall of Fame member won his fourth Iowa Senior Amateur and his fourth IGA Senior Match Play Championship, which propelled him to his – you guessed it – fourth Senior Men’s Player of the Year award. Overall, Elliott won seven times in 2019. In Iowa, in addition to the Iowa Senior Am and Senior Match Play, he claimed wins at the IGA Four-Ball Championship and Herman Sani Tournament. He partnered with Mike McCoy to earn medalist honors at qualifying for the 2019 USGA Amateur Four-Ball (held in Nebraska) and he won the Golfweek Senior Tournament of Champions in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Outside of the U.S., Elliott continued to shine. He captured his second straight Canadian Men’s Senior Championship and finished runner-up at the British Seniors Amateur held North Berwick, UK. Perhaps the biggest thrill of his summer was his performance at the British Senior Open, held at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, where he made the cut and earned the coveted gold medal as the low amateur.
