84 | EVENTS & ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORTED Iowa PGA Foundation: • Swings with Kids (Golf in Schools) Program: IGA “Grow the Game” grants funded start-up programs. • Swings with Kids introduces the game of golf to kids in physical education classes. These classes are taught by Iowa PGA professionals. This program is designed to teach these students more than just the game of golf. They focus heavily on character building and life skills that will benifit them in their life beyond the classroom. • The IGA has been a sponsor of this program and has donated to local schools in the surrounding area. The First Tee of Central Iowa: • The First Tee of Central Iowa is a youth development organization that teaches life skills and healthy habits through the game of golf. • Annual sponsor and participant for annual Skywalk Golf Classic Fundraiser in February. Iowa High School Athletic Association & Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union • Provide Rules Education Seminars for both organizations. • Provide live scoring services and support for Girls HS Championships.
