The IGAF awards Thoms $3,000 for the ISU Extension Service. SUPPORT OF TURFGRASS RESEARCH The IGA and the IGA Foundation sup- ported turfgrass research and outreach programs again in 2019. Tremendous progress has been made in environ- mental stewardship and sustainability through these programs. The Iowa Golf Association Foundation donated $3,000 toward travel for Iowa State University Extension Turfgrass Specialist Dr. AdamThoms’ travel to assist Iowa’s golf courses. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Iowa Golf Association Foundation has sup- ported turfgrass managers across the state of Iowa by contributing $3,000 each year for Dr. Thoms’ Extension education efforts. This program benefits golf clubs and course superintendents with timely infor- mation and trouble-shooting consultaion on turf issues. IGA member clubs have ac- cess to this service and are encouraged to utilize their knowledge if needed. The IGAF was again a Gold Spon- sor for the annual Iowa Turfgrass Conference and Trade Show.
