IN MEMORIAM LINDA LAYLIN Waterloo, IA Linda was an accomplished high school golfer and kept her competitive drive throughout her life. She competed in several IWGA and IGA championships over the years and gave back to the game through her services as an IWGA board member and was part of the merger in 2014. Linda was also very active in the Sunnyside Ladies Golf Association in Waterloo. CLICK HERE - full article Jerry enjoyed working at Elmwood C.C. for 29 years before retiring in 2014, achieving “Life Membership” status in the PGA of America. Jerry was honored in 1990 with the IGA PGA Professional of the Year award. He was a key cog in the Iowa Golf Hall of Fame nomination process, procuring materials for fellow PGA Professionals to present to the committee. He had a homemade swing that produced outstanding results including several Sanctioned Point Event wins and top finishes in IGA Championships. CLICK HERE - full article JIM CURELL “THE LEGEND” Boone, IA STEVE SPRAY Indianola, IA (native) Larry was very involved in golf all of his adult life, both with IGA sanctioned events, and non-sanctioned events, finishing in the top-10 in many times over the years, and making many friends along the way. He was active with junior golf programs in Webster City, as well as helping the girls and boys high school golf teams. He was also the proud owner of the “Saloon” bar and restaurant, which he ran until his passing. CLICK HERE - full article Charlie spent his entire working career in the golf course business. He attended ISU in 1961 and studied Turfgrass Management. After graduation he worked in Omaha (NE), Quincy (IL), Waterloo (IA), and Cedar Rapids (IA). During his years in Iowa, he served as President of the Iowa Golf Course Superintenents Association and earned many awards as a distinguished superintendent. CLICK HERE - full article JERRY JOHNSON Marshalltown, IA LARRY ROSS Webster City, IA CHARLIE PRIBBLE Omaha, NE Iowa Golf Hall of Fame member Steve Spray displayed incredible talent for the game as both an Amateur and Professional player and had success no matter where his playing career took him. Spray never lost the drive to compete, from his Iowa Junior Amateur win in 1958 to his top-30 finish in the 2020 Senior Club Pro Championship.
