not to make mistakes coming in. There are some pins out here you just can’t go at.” 2020 Iowa Men’s Player of the Year winner Connor Peck, of Ankeny, put forth a valiant effort to finish runner-up. Peck posted a three-round total of 209 (-1) and was the only other competitor (along with Bull) to finish under par for the 54-hole event. Urbandale’s Griffen Parker and Lindenman, of New Sharon, finished in a tie for third place with a three- day tally of 211 (+1). Bull commented that he continues to be impressed by the number of ‘young guys’ competing in events who possess both talent and poise. “I am impressed with all these young guys I play with,” Bull said. “They are more patient and mature than I was (at that age).” Bull was employed at DCC a number of years ago, and he was able to leverage the experience and course knowledge he had accumulated to his advantage. “I have played here (at DCC) 15-20 times prior to this event,” Bull said. “I worked the cart barn out here one or two nights a week (several years ago), so I could play out here.” This is the first Iowa Amateur title for Bull. His impressive Iowa golf resume includes victories at the Iowa Mid-Amateur Championship, IGA Four- Ball Championship and competing in several USGA events. It’s safe to say, Bull will be charging hard at Iowa Golf Association events for years to come. 1 Dennis Bull Norwalk -7 65 69 69 203 2 Connor Peck Ankeny -1 71 68 70 209 T3 Griffin Parker Urbandale +1 70 71 70 211 T3 Trent Lindenman New Sharon +1 67 73 71 211 T5 Dusty Drenth Davenport +3 69 74 70 213 T5 Andrew O'Brien Clive +3 67 72 74 213 T7 Jon Brown Adel +4 75 71 68 214 T7 J.D.
