2020 IGA Yearbook

T he 59th IGA Women’s Club Team Championship was held at Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course in Waterloo. The championship was originally scheduled to be held at Elmcrest Country Club, in Cedar Rapids, prior to the devastating derecho storm that caused extensive damage to the area. Echo Valley CC led the charge, finishing one shot clear of Briarwood Golf Club to successfully defend their Gross Division title. Their team consisted of Jordan Rose, Leanne Smith, Robin Webb and Valerie Weis. All four ladies contributed a birdie and several timely pars during their round. Echo Valley CC shot 221 (+5) with Briarwood Golf Club right behind with a final tally of 222 (+6). Briarwood Golf Club’s team consisted of Julie Davidson, Ila Gilbert, Kelsi Linden and Mikayla Olson. Briarwood Golf Club’s Mikayla Olson fired a two- under-par round of 70 to earn medalists honors for low round in the Gross Individual Division. She capitalized on the par-5’s making birdie on three out of four attempts during her round. Olson collected five birdies total offset by a mere three bogies on the day. Echo Valley Country Club’s Leanne Smith finished runner-up after posting an even-par round of 72. Smith’s round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole. Urbandale Golf & Country Club and the LPGA Amateurs Golf Association team from Des Moines both posted final scores of of 205 (-11). Urbandale Golf & Country Club was declared the winner and the LPGA Amateurs Golf Association team fromDes Moines earned runner-up honors via a scorecard playoff. UGCC’s team consisted of Jill Bouslog, Krista Lindholm, Carol Rinauro and Cathy West. All four ladies contributed at least three “net birdies” on the day. The LPGA Amateur’s roster included Noreen Christians, Sharon Delgado, Soni Hansen and Ardrae Parmenter. In the Net Individual Division, Urbandale Golf & Country Club’s Krista Lindholm took home the title after carding a round of 68 (-4).
