2020 IGA Yearbook

T eams from 19 IGA member clubs battled breezy conditions all day at Hyperion Field Club. The format for the championship includes four-man teams from IGA Member Clubs that participate in both the Net and Gross Divisions. Each golfer plays their own golf ball throughout the competition. A club records the best 3 of 4 total scores for the gross competition and the best 3 of 4 scores on each hole for net. Glen Oaks Country Club brought home the hardware, posting a score of 281 (+2) in the Gross Division (best 3 of 4 18-hole scores) to finish three shots clear of Geneva Golf & Country Club. Glen Oaks’ team consisted of Ryan Bishop, Scot Cook, Gene Elliott, and Scott Hart. Hart led the way with an impressive round of 70 (-2), highlighted by an eagle on the 350-yard par-4 sixteenth. The team added four birdies on the back nine to cement their lead. Geneva Golf & Country Club recorded birdies on eight holes, but ultimately were held back by a series of bogeys and finished in second place with a final tally of 221 (+5). Echo Valley Country Club and Landsmeer Golf Club finished in a tie for third place at 225 (+9). In the Net Division, Ballard Country Club posted a team score of five under and pulled away from the field, with the help of 16 net birdies, to post a final score of 211 (-5). Ballard’s team consisted of Kris Greenfield, Scott Hornstein, Jon Weeks, and Wyatt Weeks. Finishing runner-up was Geneva Golf & Country Club who carded a final tally of 216 (E). Glen Oaks CC finished in third place at 217 (+1).
