IN MEMORIAM MURRAY HART MAR. 1 , 1947 - JULY 30 , 2021 J IM MITCHELL DEC. 26 , 1932 - AUG. 14 , 2021 Jim Mitchell, who served the IGA in many capacities over the years, passed away at the age of 88 on Sat- urday, August 14, 2021. Jim and his beloved wife of 63 years, Pat, had lived the last several years in Atlanta, Georgia. Mitchell, who also served on the Board of Direc- tors of the IGA, was a prominent player on the course as well, capturing the 1968 Northwest Am, 1991 Iowa Senior Am, and 2001 IGA Four-Ball (Senior Division) with partner Jim Bianco. Mitchell was the '86, '90, and '91 IGA Sr. Player of the Year and received the prestigious George Turner Distinguished Service Award in 2007 for his impact on the game of golf through years of volunteer service, including his time as chair- person of the Herman Sani Selection Committee. Murray Hart, 74, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. Hart was a resident of Spencer and was a member at Spencer Golf & Country Club. Mr. Hart had a long and successful career in the real estate business, the fast food business, the motel/hotel business, the apartment business and many other venture capital endeavors. Murray was an active amateur golfer and won many tournaments. He served on the Iowa Golf Association Board for 25 years and served as President from 2001 through 2003, during which time the IGA and Iowa Section PGA transitioned into two separate offices.
