The Smith-Jensen match started to heat up right away after Jensen won the first hole. This showed Smith that Jensen was there to compete, and that was exactly what she did. The two battled back-and-forth all the way to the 16th hole where Smith made par to seal the victory and win her third straight IGA Women's Match Play Championship. "Anna is super talented and will be a tough competitor for a long time and she is great for Iowa golf," stated Smith. She dominated her early matches and made the final a challenging battle for Leanne Smith. The final match between Jensen (L) and Smith ended on the 16th hole (3&2). Brooke Newell of Anita was the stroke play medalist, earning her the No. 1 seed. Newell was defeated by Anna Jensen in the semifinals, 2 up.
