2023 IGA Yearbook

14 COMMUNICATIONS T he game of golf is stronger than ever – which means there's a lot of information and stories to share about this great game we love and enjoy! With many local media outlets finding their time better suited to cover national news, the IGA website is where you're going to find news, USGA updates, features, results and somuchmore related to the game of golf around the state. The IGA saw over 132,000 visits and over 700,000 page views recorded in 2023 to the website. It's the place to be, no questions asked. Another place to be is onboard with the IGA's social media channels – X (Twitter to us 'veterans'), Facebook and Instagram! Growth continues in all three, with over 3,400 following on X, over 3,700 on Facebook and more than 1,300 on Instagram - with those numbers increasing almost every day. I'll say it again – If you aren't a follower to any of those social media channels – click that like/follow button and get onboard. It's something special to see golfers of all ages and backgrounds come together and share their own experiences with golf on social media. Then there's the GHIN mobile app. As you might remember in 2022 traffic was incredible, well it was even BUSIER in 2023! According to statistics from the USGA, IGA members had 1 million sessions, 13 million screen views and 28K users documented in 2023 on the app. That's not all – a total of 572,444 scores were posted to GHIN on the app alone! How many did you contribute? It's simply incredible - the game of golf is strong. VAUGHN HALYARD, COMMITTEE CHAIR
