4 MARK BURKE 1955 - 2023 Service to his family, friends, church, and community defined Mark. He was proud to serve his country in the Navy as a Seabee. Over 1,000 veterans have gone through G.I.V.E. clinics with Mark. He was honored with the Iowa Section PGA Patriot Award three times and the PGA Player Development Award. He was passionate about teaching golf, especially to children through the First Tee program and persons with mental and physical disabilities through Links Associates. TED COPPOCK 1938 - 2023 Coppock participated in many IGA events through the years and was a valuable volunteer to the association, serving on the Board for many years, including two years as IGA President (April 1997 - April 1999). Ted made the most impact on the game here in Iowa with his work related to the Herman Sani Scholarship and Tournament. He was the lead fundraiser for many years and provided additional wisdom as a member of the Sani Selection Committee. RANDY LARSON 1955 - 2023 Larson was a longtime IGA supporter and current board member. Larson, a veteran lawyer in Iowa City, was a strong advocate for the game of golf, growing the game and supporting not only the IGA but golf in general around the state. Larson had begun his 4th term on the IGA Board last fall (2023). Randy would be the first person to tell you to go hit the links, play a round of golf or hone your skills at the driving range. He always deflected when someone tried to sing his praises. KIRK STANZEL 1946 - 2023 Kirk was the Executive Director of the Iowa Section PGA from March of 1989 until his retirement in April of 2006 and the IGA until 2001. Kirk's biggest accomplishments include the introduction of the Iowa Junior Tour, Drive, Chip, & Putt, Golf Pass, and Las Vegas Pro Am. He is also credited for hiring a great staff that included Tess Goudy and former ED Troy Christensen. He was known as a true gentleman of the PGA. JANE SUITER 1948 - 2023 Jane was a teacher at Kennedy HS in Cedar Rapids for a majority of her career and coached volleyball. Upon retirement she became an adjuct instructor at Kirkwood Community College. Jane enjoyed playing golf, competiting in many tournaments throughout Iowa. She also served as a Course Rater for the Iowa Golf Association for many years as part of the northeast team. IN MEMORIAM
