Smith opened the first round with seven birdies carding an impressive 67 (-5). Not far behind was Roman Roth shooting 68 (-4) and Kelly Brown with a 70 (-2). Jake Weissenburger of Clive, who previously won the Lake Creek Amateur, shot 71 (-1). A pair of even par 72s were shot by Will Simpson and Jack Winkel, leaving them tied for fifth. Entering into the second and final round it was anybody's tournament. Winkel would play steady posting 71 (-1) and Simpson would move up the leaderboard and carding an impressive bogey free 65 (-7). Meanwhile Roth would post an impressive 66 (-6). But none of that was enough to catch Smith, as he matched Roth with a 66 of his own to win by a stroke. The Senior Division was tight. In this six-man field after round one, Tony Newkirk and Matt Steddom both opened up with even par rounds of 72. Troy Underhill and Jon Weeks followed in second after each posted 77. In solo third was Eric Jensen shooting a 78 (+6). Round two proved to be a battle till the end. Jensen shot a 78 (+8) sitting in third, while Newkirk and Steddom were going back and forth. In the end Newkirk’s birdie on 18 sealed the win shooting a 71 (-1). Steddom would finish in second, shooting an even par round of 72. With only two Super Seniors in the field, one might not expect a close race, but both Mark Urbanek and Bill Corrick had different ideas. Urbanek opened with an 81 (+9) and Corrick an 83 (+11), then Corrick got the better of Urbanek in round two. But it wasn't quite enough, as Urbanek would end up staying one shot clear.
