4 CORKEY NYDLE 1929 - 2024 Corkey Nydle was 24 years old when she won her first Iowa Women’s Amateur golf title in 1953 at Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids. Corkey won 23 Iowa Women’s Golf Association-spon- sored titles during her career. In addition to six Iowa Women’s Amateur crowns, she won 11 Iowa Senior Amateur titles. That included eight straight from 1983 to 1991. She won five Forever 39 titles and also helped Ellis Park (Cedar Rapids) win five state team titles. KEN WHITEHEAD 1934 - 2024 Ken dedicated his free time to playing golf, and if he wasn't out on the course, he was watching it on TV. His passion for the sport was immense, having achieved 25 holes-in-one throughout his years of play. Notable accomplishments include participating in the 2010 USGA Senior Open, competing in two U.S. Senior Amateurs, and winning the Hyperion Field Club Championship as well as the Des Moines Golf and Country Club match play twice. Ken was truly an exceptional individual, embodying love, kindness, care, support, sincerity, and loyalty in all his relationships. JOE CALIGIURI 1947 - 2024 Joe grew up on the south side of Des Moines and graduated from Dowling Catholic High School, class of 1965. Upon graduation, Joe attended Drake University, at which time he decided to pur- sue his passion for golf. This passion began at the young age of 10, caddying at Wakonda Club. His dedication and expertise of the sport led him to the role of superintendent at Echo Valley Country Club, where he left an indelible mark on the course and the community alike. TRUDIE HIGGS 1929 - 2024 Gertrude Galloway Van Ginkel Higgs "Trudie" loved golf and served on the board of the Iowa Women’s Golf Association for 20 years. Trudie served as a course rater, rules official, and president for four years. Trudie and husband Harold Higgs (Hal) traveled extensively, playing over 100 golf courses around the world. IN MEMORIAM
