2024 IGA Yearbook

13 World Handicap System Revision 2024 was a World Handicap System revision year. I first want to thank all the IGA member clubs who took part in the training and certification process. This revision was focused in three different areas; The treatment of 9-hole scores, what to do when 10- 17 holes are played and the inclusion of short courses into the Course Rating System. These changes have enhanced the usability of the World Handicap System and have made it more accommodating to all types of players. Looking Ahead As we reflect on this year's accomplishments, we remain focused on enhancing the IGA experience for golfers across Iowa. From continuing to foster participation among our youth to supporting public and private clubs alike, our commitment to growing the game is stronger than ever. As we move forward into 2025, the IGA is excited to build on this momentum and continue its mission of growing the game of golf throughout our region. Thank you for your support and your involvement which helps make Iowa golf the thriving community it is today. Here’s to another successful year—on and off the course!
