The course’s commitment to quality, community, environmental stewardship and wildlife conservation is outstanding.” - KC Jones The Northwest Iowa Amateur has been a prestigious event for 103 years, and for over 50 of those years, Bill Zinn has played a vital role in its success. Beginning in 1974, Zinn worked as the starter and announcer alongside tournament directors Bob Woods and Bob Rose, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a strong connection with golfers. When Bob Rose retired, Zinn took over as tournament director and held the position for nearly a decade before retiring in 2023. While technology changed some tournament processes, the sense of community and family atmosphere Zinn helped foster remained constant throughout his involvement.
