9 Our board of directors also deserves recognition. Their leadership, guidance, and tireless work behind the scenes uphold our long-standing traditions while helping us prepare for the future. Their dedication is essential to the continued health and success of the IGA. I would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to all of our tournament participants this year, and especially to our Players of the Year: Grant Smith, Men’s Open Division; Pimkwan Chookaew, Women’s Open Division; Jon Brown, Men’s Senior Division; Julie Buerman, Women’s Senior Division; Tony Malizia, Men’s Super Senior Division; Braeden Nelson, Junior Boys; and Morgan Rupp, Junior Girls. Each of these outstanding individuals demonstrated exceptional skill, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the season. Competing against the most talented golfers in the state is no small task, and their achievements deserve to be celebrated. Finally, the highlight of my presidency is the opportunity to announce our next IGA President, Leighann LaRocca. Leighann will be the first female president in the history of the Iowa Golf Association—a truly significant and inspiring milestone. She is an exceptional leader who loves the game and has dedicated countless hours to serving on committees, supporting initiatives, and strengthening our organization. I have every confidence that her vision, passion, and steady leadership will move the IGA toward an even brighter future. Leighann, congratulations. It has been an honor working with you, and I look forward to watching you guide the IGA with integrity and enthusiasm in the years ahead.
