2025 Yearbook

8 FROM THE PRESIDENT The past two years have passed with remarkable speed, and as I reflect on my tenure, I am truly honored to have served as the President of the Iowa Golf Association. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many passionate individuals who care deeply about the game of golf and its future in our state. The IGA is sustained by a rich tradition, and I am proud to say that the momentum behind our mission has never been stronger. Golf House Iowa continues to grow into a vibrant center for the sport—a place that not only preserves the history of Iowa golf but also serves as a welcoming platform for education, community engagement, and the advancement of amateur golf. Participation in our championships, qualifiers, and educational programs has increased steadily, reflecting the strength and enthusiasmof our golfing community. This growth reminds us that the game remains as meaningful and inspiring as ever, connecting generations and bringing people together through shared competition and camaraderie. Equally encouraging is the expansion of our volunteer base. The dedication of these individuals—who give their time, energy, and talent—makes every event possible. Their commitment helps us maintain the high standards that define the Iowa Golf Association. We are also continually seeking new ways to support the game through scholarships, youth programming, and collaborative efforts with other influential organizations, including First Tee - Central Iowa, the Iowa Turfgrass Institute, and the Iowa PGA. These partnerships help ensure that golfers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels have opportunities to grow, learn, and enjoy the sport. None of this progress would be possible without our exceptional staff—the best in the business. The 2025 tournament schedule presented several unique challenges, not least of which was the unpredictable and often uncooperative weather. Despite these obstacles, our staff approached each day with professionalism, resilience, and unwavering enthusiasm. Their work ethic ensured that our events remained organized, safe, enjoyable, and true to the values of the IGA. I am deeply grateful for their commitment to excellence.
