In 2016, the IGA Foundation gained
momentum
in many important areas of support for
growth of the game
and to protect both the past and the future of golf. The
generosity
of our growing list of supporters
provides the fuel for i
ncreasing our impact
in vital
areas like junior golf programs, scholarships, turfgrass research, and preservation of the
history of the game in Iowa.

Turf Institute to support the Iowa State
Univeristy Turf Extension Service and the
Iowa GCSA Water Quality Research Project.
In 2016, the IGA gave out $34,000
in grants for the Herman Sani
Scholarship and $10,000 in grants
for the Ann Giffel Scholarship.

• ECONOMIC IMPACT:
Golf contributes $817.5
million of direct, indirect and induced
economic output; 11,435 jobs; $280.2 million
in compensation; and $72 million in state and
local tax revenue.
• CHARITY AND GIVING BACK:
Iowa golf facilities
hosted thousands of events generating $28.7
million. The majority of funds benefit local
causes outside of golf such as hospitals, fire
departments, college scholarships, food banks,
youth programs and a variety of environmental
and cultural organizations.
