IOWA WIFE-HUSBAND CHAMPIONSHIP

Lake Panorama GC, Panora

Glasford’s hold on for victory, Dethrow’s

make it three in a row

They were co-champions last year, but this year, Scot and Amy

Glasford held off Reed and Julianna Burkholder by one stroke to

become the outright champions of the 56th Iowa Wife-Husband

Championship.

The event was held at Lake Panorama National Golf Reort

in Panora. This was the first time in 13 years it was held

somewhere other than Burlington Golf Club.

After an opening round of 4-under par 68, the Glasfords fired

4-over par (76) on the final day of the championship to finish

with an even par, two-day total of 144. The Burkholders carded

a final round score of 72, although it wasn’t enough as the duo

finished at one-over par for the tournament at 145 (73-72).

In the Super Senior Division, Carroll and John Dethrow earned

their third straight title at the event by posting a two-day total of

160 (75-80). The Dethrows edged out one of the local couples,

Carla and Tim Fitzgerald, who posted 82-80 and finished in

second two strokes back.

The 57th Wife-Husband Championship will return to Lake

Panorama National Golf Course in 2017, September 15-17.
