Echo Valley CC, Monticello take titles at Club Team
The team from Echo Valley Country Club, including Gary Ellis, Jay Goeser, Dennis Bull and Robert Pomerantz
posted a winning (gross) score of -1 215, led by Bull’s 69 (-3) to claim the 11th IGA Club Team Championship.
The event was held at Johnston’s Hyperion Field Club.
Des Moines Golf and Country Club finished just three shots back and finished in second place alone.
In the Net Division, Monticello Golf Club, consisting of Kevin Bergman, Phil McDonald, Dustin Hall and Bruce
Johnson, won the team title with a score of 205. Monticello actually tied the winning Gross Division team from
Echo Valley CC, but a team is not able to win both divisions, therefore Monticello GC were declared champions
of the Net Division.
Each four-person team competed in both a Gross and Net Division competition. Gross scoring consists of the
best three of four 18-hole scores, while the Net competition counts the best 3 of 4 Net scores on each hole.
