defeated Dyersville CC (2) by three shots to win the Net Division.
In the Net Division, Prairie Links Golf Course shot 209
(-7) to win by three over Dyersville Country Club (2).
Prairie Links GC’s team consisted of Chris Wagner,
Patrick Sexton, Tony Wagner and William Buss. The
winners were able to put 15 net birdies and four net eagles on the card. In the Net Division, the
three low scores (net) on each hole are counted towards the team total.
The runner-up team, posting 212 (-4), in the Net Division from Dyersville included Chance Maiers,
Larry Olberding, Tom Olberding and Tyler Engelken. They were able to make a total of ten net
birdies and an eagle on the day. A trio of teams, including Dyersville CC (1), Ottumwa CC and
Willow Run CC, tied for third place at 215 (-1).
Just Pansegrau, of St. Andrews Golf Course, was the low individual with a 69 (-3), including a
sizzling 31 on the back nine. Miller (DMG 2) and Ault (Ft. Dodge CC) finished tied for second
overall with a score of 71 (-1).
Adverse conditions on a challenging, yet fair golf
course were the storylines at the 12th IGA Club Team
Championship at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. A close
contest with both the Gross and Net Divisions ensued.
In something out of a movie, Des Moines Golf & CC (2) edged their fellow club members from
DMG by a single shot 218-219. The team of Luke Miller, Ben Herrera, Patrick Breitbach and Alex
Bair formed the winning team from DMG. That team accounted for a total of ‘counting’ 13 birdies
on the day. In the Gross Division, the low three scores of the four are counted.
The runner-up team from DMG consisted of the quartet of Matt Weresh, Jamie Faidley, Josh
Janeczko and Robert Wahlert. Ottumwa Country Club finished in third place at 227 (+11). Jeff
Collett, Aaron O’Brien, Dusty Stewart and Steve Wetrich represented Ottumwa Country Club.
Finishing in fourth place was Fort Dodge Country Club, consisting of Kevin Ault, Eddie Doyle
Tom Schill and Ryan Reeder.
