IGA Players of the Year
It is no surprise that once the dust had settled in 2017
J.D. Anderson would come out on top of the Player
of the Year race. Anderson has been a model of
consistency over the span of his amateur career. Since
2002 he has accumulated 13 top-ten finishes in the
IGA Player of the Year standings.
The 43-year old from Johnston was able to start the
year off with a bang. He shot a final round 67 to
win the Iowa Mid-Amateur, which was his first IGA
Championship.
He then went on cruise control after that picking up
top 5s at the Southeast Iowa Amateur, Northwest
Amateur and Herman Sani Tournament.
J.D. ended the year by winning the Briarwood
Amateur by three as well as earning medalist honors
at the U.S. Mid-Amateur sectional qualifier at
Davenport Country Club.
To top it all off, J.D. traveled to Germany to compete
in the Mercedes Trophy World Final where he came
out victorious on the international field.
