Rosalie Kubesheski, of Dubuque, participated in the U.S. Senior

Women's Amateur September 9-14. It was contested at Waverly

Country Club in Portland, Oregon.

Her journey started at Greenbriar Hills Country Club near St.

Louis, Missouri where she qualified against ten other women

from around the Midwest. There were two spots up for grab in

the one round qualifier. Kubesheski was able to shoot an 83 to

secure the second qualifying spot and one shot clear of playing

off for 1st alternate.

At the Championship Rosalie posted rounds of 84-83 (+23) to

just miss qualifying for match play by four strokes.

U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Qualifier

Dusty Drenth of Davenport and J.D.

Anderson of Johnston earned co-medalist

honors and the two qualifying spots into

the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at

Davenport Country Club on September 6th.

The two each shot 1-over-par 72.

Drenth had a bit of an up and down day while

Anderson was more steady arriving at his 72.

Drenth posted five birdies - four on the front

nine - against six bogeys while Anderson had

two birdies and three bogeys.

Luke Miller earned first alternate after

winning a playoff with Nate Dunn and Patrick

Hall, when all three fired a 74. It proved to be

an important win too, as Anderson was unable

to participate at the championship proper due

to qualifying for a tournament in Germany

that was held at the same time. That meant

Miller was in the field.

It was the first time qualifying for the U.S.

Mid-Am for Drenth, Anderson and Miller,

even though Anderson would not ultimately

make the trip. In all, 30 players battled at

Davenport CC for the two qualifying spots.
