"I thought I had a good grasp of the history of the sport in my native state. I was wrong. I’ve learned so much during the research for this book. I hope you find the stories as interesting as I did. I probably missed an important thing or two along the way, but I can tell you the research and reporting were done with due diligence. If you read this book, you probably have a deep and abiding love for the game of golf." - Rick Brown

"Golf coverage in the local newspaper may be a thing of the past, but at least my generation had the pleasure of being covered by a gentleman who understood the game and never failed to find a story. We owe Rick a debt of gratitude for the painstaking research he invested to tell our Iowa golf story. I know you will enjoy this incredible collection of Iowa's golf greats, their clubs, pros, superintendents and communities that love the game."
