SUPER SENIOR MEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR POINT SYSTEM
RULES & REGULATIONS
IGA Super Senior Player of the Year Point System
- Point Total is determined by:
- Total points in all Super Senior IGA and Additional Sanctioned Point Events.
- Points for 2024 will accumulate through the final IGA, USGA or Additional Sanctioned Point event, whichever comes later. (Sept. 26th, 2024)
- Player must be an Iowa resident and be a member of the IGA (enrolled on GHIN Handicap Roster at an IGA Member Club) to be eligible.
- Players will only earn points in events in which they are 65 years old or older at the start of a competition. Example: A player who plays in a USGA championship early in the year when they are 64 will not retroactively earn points if they turn 65 later that summer.
- In cases where all seniors play from the same set of tees, those that are 65 and over will be ranked separately and awarded points based on that ranking for the Super Senior POTY.
- In tournaments with professional fields (Herman Sani) points will be awarded according to finish against the amateur portion of the field.
- Points will not be awarded to amateur players who are not Iowa residents and IGA members. Positions will not be elevated in order to award those points. For example: 3rd place points will be awarded the 3rd place finisher even if the 1st and 2nd place finishers are not IGA members.
- It is the policy of the Iowa Golf Association that at least ten 65 or over individuals must enter the tournament to constitute awarding points for the Super Senior player of the year race. If ten or less enter, no points will be available.
- For example: When three 65+ individuals sign up to play in the Carroll Amateur, no points will be awarded for the Super Senior Player of the Year race.
- The IGA Four-Ball & IGA Senior Four-Ball Championships are a FULL Point Event. Points are awarded to each player based on team finish in the division. For example, on the 1st place team, Player A receives 250 points and Player B receives 250 points.
