ABOUT THE SEMINAR…
This workshop will help coaches become confident in giving golf instruction to people with physical & cognitive challenges. We will review how to safely and effectively use adaptive equipment. In the afternoon, you will experience self-adaptations across different scenarios to help you gain first-hand knowledge and experience.

GENERAL SCHEDULE
- 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
- Arrival, Welcome & Introductions
- 9:30 – 12:30 p.m.
- PowerPoint Presentation on Adaptive teaching techniques
- Question & Answer period
- 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
- Lunch & Networking
- 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
- Outside training at the Driving Range (weather permitting)
- In the case of inclement weather, we will shift to an indoor facility in the DM Metro
IOWA ADAPTIVE OPEN INFORMATION
Last spring we announced that our newest championship – the Iowa Adaptive Open – would launch in the summer of 2025. The first championship was a success, despite many weather issues during the event. We are thrilled to come back to Terrace Hills in 2026 with our second Iowa Adaptive Open. Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino has agreed to be a title sponsor once again, which helps us provide a true championship experience to the players.
Prizes will be awarded across all divisions with participants and naming overall champions in Open, Senior, Super-Senior, and Women’s Divisions. While there certainly will be competition during this event, we want to encourage ALL eligible golfers to participate, no matter their golfing skill. We are confident it will be a fun event whether you shoot a low number or not.
To sign up, you MUST have a player profile created on the IGA’s online entry system (don’t worry, it’s free!). If you have a GHIN number, you are encouraged to include that when creating your profile. If you do not have a GHIN number, no problem, you can still create your profile and get signed up. Entries will open on March 2, 2026.
