Wayne Charles Edmiston Jr. is a distinguished United States Marine Corps combat veteran and a growing handicap golfer. Wayne combines his extensive military experience with his passion for golf, bringing unique insights and a disciplined approach to both the sport and his time in Hollywood, in war, and in Congress.

Holding a Master of Public Policy Management from Georgetown University, a Master of Science in Communications from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from American Military University, Edmiston’s academic background is as diverse as it is impressive. His commitment to education is evident in his notable academic projects and honors, including the Dean’s List and Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society. He also was named a 2019 Bryce Harlow Fellow for military advocacy.

In his current role as the Entertainment Liaison Officer in Los Angeles, Edmiston liaises between the Marine Corps and the entertainment, gaming, and sports. As an on-set advisor in the film industry, his work ensures the Marine Corps is authentically portrayed in film and TV having worked with A-List actors such as Christian Bale, Dennis Quaid and many others.

As a former Marine Corps Congressional Liaison Officer and Department of Defense Congressional Fellow, Edmiston traveled around the globe with members of Congress and served a military assistant to the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.  

His military leadership education, including his graduation from the Marine Corps Staff Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Academy, qualification as a Marine Combat Instructor of Water Survival, and multiple combat deployments further underscores his dedication to excellence and continuous improvement, principles that are at the heart of golf.

Wayne brings a unique perspective, blending his military background with his golfing experience. His insights are sure to inspire and engage, offering a fresh perspective on discipline, strategy, and the pursuit of excellence both on and off the golf course.

Dave Aznavorian is the Senior Director, Transformational Initiatives for the United States Golf Association (USGA), the leading sports association dedicated to the health and growth of the game of golf. Dave assumed the newly created role in April 2018 to help improve areas critical to the long-term health and sustainability of the game, inclusive of participation and retention, golf course and facility cost-side management, and mitigation of the game’s reliance on natural resources including water and land.

Dave joined the United States Golf Association in February 2014 to create and lead the Association’s first centralized Marketing function, with oversight including demand generation and brand management. The USGA annually conducts one of golf’s four major championships, the U.S. Open, along with the U.S. Women’s Open, the U.S. Senior Open, and 12 of the game’s most prestigious amateur championships, collectively drawing a broadcast and digital viewing audience of more than 20 million from 160 countries worldwide.

Prior to the USGA, Aznavorian was Vice President, Marketing for Earth Brands, a socially responsible footwear and apparel company, with distribution that included Amazon/Whole Foods, Walmart and QVC. Aznavorian’s formative career was shaped by experiences in Global Brand Management at outdoor / recreation industry leader, Timberland, and Titleist and FootJoy Worldwide. At Titleist, Dave first served as Manager, Strategic Planning & Analysis prior to leading Marketing Communications for the then-newly acquired, Cobra Golf brand.

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Aznavorian was a Division I college athlete and member of Casque & Gauntlet Senior Honor Society, later earning his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Dave resides just outside of Boston, Massachusetts where he lives with his wife, Katie, and son, Leo.

Randy is not stranger to the Iowa golf scene.  He started working on Lincoln Valley golf course at the age of 13 and later became the Assistant Superintendent there. 

Following a brief 15-month vacation in the scenic territory near Mosul, Iraq serving as a Combat Medic attached to the 101st Airborne Division, he became the Superintendent at Lakeshore Golf & Country Club in Afton, IA for a year before moving to Huxley, IA to become the Superintendent at Ballard Golf & Country Club, where he spent 10 years. 

After that, he took the position of Executive Director of the Iowa Turfgrass Institute and also serving as the Director of the Iowa GCSA, Iowa Sports Turf Managers Association, and Iowa Professional Lawn Care Association for 6 years.  Now with the GCSAA, he’s back where he belongs concentrating on the game of golf and assisting golf course superintendents and GCSAA chapters in a seven state Midwest region.
