JACQUE (FLADOOS) PETERS

Five years younger than sister Sharon, Jacque extended the Fladoos streak in Iowa High School golf to six years by winning the medal in 1962 and 1963; she came back to win again in 1965.  Jacque also put her name on the Iowa Girl’s Junior Amateur once, in 1963.

Jacque matched Sharon with three Iowa Women’s Amateur titles with victories in 1966, 67 and 69. She almost matched another achievement of her sister when she advanced to the semi-finals of the USGA Junior Girl’s Championship in 1963 at the age of 15.

Jacque was inducted into the Dubuque Senior High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1996 and was part of the inaugural class with sister Sharon of the Iowa High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2008.

Jacque taught school for 34 years in Upland, Calif. and passed away in 2008.
